This year has certainly been one of the most eventful and challenging that I have experienced in my career, with impacts of COVID-19 being felt both in Australia and right across the world, and spanning all facets of our lives, business and the economy.
Given the nature of our industry, the global meetings sector has been impacted significantly by the pandemic; with the important social distancing measures and travel restrictions that were put in place hitting our industry earlier and harder than most, and impacting the livelihoods of our business events community.
Whilst the impacts are still being felt domestically and globally, we’re starting to see some early signs towards recovery in some areas. Side-by-side with our industry colleagues, we are working closely with the NSW Government to look at how we can restart our sector promptly and safely, and give our clients the confidence to once again meet face to face.
Whilst the situation evolves, the BESydney team continues to win global meetings for Sydney. We are working closely with our international clients and tourism partners to retain and postpone those meetings impacted by the continued global restrictions on our sector.
In the following pages, we share with you what we're doing to support our clients, partners and the industry that we are so passionate about.
