Every year, over 7500 leading financial institutions, leaders and decision makers come together to discuss the future of their industry. Sibos, the world’s largest financial services meeting came to Sydney for a third time in 2018 (previously held in 2006 and 1997), at the new International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney).
KEY MOMENTS
- Oceania Lounge – exhibitions from 32 local FinTech start-ups from across New South Wales, Australia and New Zealand.
- Discovery Zone – which showcased the new-industry, new-skill focused work taking place at universities across New South Wales, in the areas of aerospace, bio printing and desalination.
- 2018 SWIFT Institute Challenge – local tertiary students were tasked with creating solutions for one of the most prominent global industry challenges. The eight selected finalists included teams from University of Sydney and University of Technology Sydney. Innovation Labs – from leading Australian banks Commonwealth Bank, ING, National Australia Bank and Westpac.
- Integrated local expertise – opening plenary delivered by ANZ CEO, Shayne Elliot, with the closing address delivered by Australian distinguished professor and Vice President at Intel, Genevieve Bell.
